Another baby burp cloth.  I bought a wing needle.  If it works I will be able to make my own holes in the edge to get projects ready for crochet.  I'm going to try this weekend.

A new edge

I found on Pinterest a link to this edge in Portuguese.  Google translated but the words were strange and didn't make sense to me. They did have good pictures that I could understand. I modified it slightly.  Below is my version.

A)  start from a single crochet (or a chain if this is the first petal)
B) chain 3 skip two stitches and single crochet in the third (this single crochet will be the start of the next petal when this one is done).
C) Turn the project over.  Chain 3.  4 double crochet back along the chain 3 space created in B)
D) Turn the project over to the front.  Put 5 double crochet in the post of the single crochet made in A)
E) Slip stitch in the single crochet made in B)

Chain three from starting single crochet.
Skip two stitches and single crochet in the third.  Then work three chains.

The piece is turned over and 4 double crochet are done in the chain 3 space.

Turn it back over to the front.  work 5 double crochet around the post of the single crochet.

The 5 double crochet finished.

Slip stitch in the single crochet to finish the petal.

finished a few projects

I finally finished a blanket.  It's taken several weeks to use up most of my acrylic yarn pieces.  That was my goal: to get my yarn box down to a manageable size.  I still have a few balls of variegated acrylic because I didn't think that would go well in this blanket.  Now I have several balls of cotton, but as that is my favorite, I'm sure I will find uses for it.

I also made another burp cloth for a new nephew.  I took longer to figure out the stitch than it did to complete the project....I finally read the instructions.  :)

I made a casserole dish and bowl for a nieces upcoming wedding.  The inside is painted with what is said was lime green.  It looks like spicy brown mustard on the speckled brown clay I used.  I do like the speckles though and the mustard color still looks good with the dark outside color that is forest green.

The top picture is closer to the actual color.  The yellow in bottom picture should look like spicy brown mustard.

Next project to finish:  10 piggy banks.   Possibly wishful thinking on my part, but we'll see.

Flat Stanley

Flat Stanley came to visit our house.  I took him to work and took a ton of pictures.  Here is one where he got into the lesson on fractals.
I have been working on a large blanket so no new finished crochet to show.  Several of my pottery items have blown up in the kiln so no new pottery to show.  It may seem like I haven't done anything for a while, but between work and things not quite finished there isn't a lot to share.

I made a headband using a a stitch from

I modified it to just go in a circle and to have the strawberries closer together.
